It was great to see so many of you at our November 10 meeting! For those of you who couldn't make it, here's what you missed:
SD Bee activities (explanation and schedule here):
Butterfly blocks were collected for I-Chun. If you have more, bring them to the December 8 meeting.
Angela G. passed out supplies for string blocks for what looks like it will be an awesome chevron quilt.
Sadly, our BeeKeeper Dawn is moving on, so if anyone is interested in taking over as BeeKeeper, please make yourself known. Dawn's Bee month was going to be March 2014, but Patti, who was scheduled for December, volunteered to trade months. That way, everyone will have a Bee break during the busy holiday season.
We collected some Urban Chicken blocks for our 4Q quilt. If you have more, bring them to the December 8 meeting.
During the Sew-In, Angela D. worked furiously on piecing our 3Q wonky cross blocks, and got nearly two tops out of them. See our Flickr page for some action shots.
Time is running out on the Heather Ross Fussy Cut Challenge! Will you have your entry finished and uploaded to the challenge pool by November 30? Some nice entries were shown during Sew-n-Tell.
Elections for the 2014 officers were held, and since all the candidates were unopposed, vote counting was easy. The winners were:
Treasurer - Pam Sadler
Secretary - Susan Kephart
VP of Operations – Marisa Thompson
VP of Activities – Chris Broehmer
President - Deb Donovan
Potluck! We're having a potluck at the December 8 meeting to celebrate the end of another wonderful year. Check out the details and suggestions for what to bring here.
We had lots of great projects at Sew-n-Tell, as you can see on the Flickr page. The nieces and nephews (and sisters and mothers) of the guild are going to have some nice holiday surprises! Also, see if you can figure out who is our favorite quilt pattern designer ;)
The meeting finished with a very helpful demonstration by Alicia on how to machine-piece hexagons without tears. The secret is Washi tape!
See you at the next meeting (and Potluck!), Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Quilt in a Day!
